WSC Coaching Announcement
Williamstown Soccer Club is pleased to formally introduce Dushan Nikolic as our new Senior Men’s Head Coach.
Dushan, or Dush as he is more commonly known, boasts an extensive playing CV spanning some 17 years of senior football, predominately played at the Division 1 and Premier League level.
During this time he enjoyed successful stints at Fitzroy City, Kingston and most notably Springvale White Eagles, who he helped guide into the Victorian Premier League on 2 separate occasions, including once as captain.
Dush finished his playing career as Captain with Essendon Royals in Division 1, 2017. He slowly made the transition into coaching, initially assisting Michael Curcija at the Royals.
He then made the move back to Fitzroy, where he worked alongside Andy Vlahos to bring Fitzroy their first championship in close to a decade by claiming top spot in Division 2 at the end of the 2019 season.
The Nikolic family are no strangers to WSC with Dush’s older brother Sash serving the club with distinction in the early to mid-noughties. Dush also had a brief spell with our Senior team in 2009.
Dush on taking the role: “I am incredibly honoured to be given the opportunity as Head Coach of Williamstown. Willy have a long history of playing attractive and exciting football and I look forward to putting my own stamp on the team and working with one of the most talented squads in the league. With the help of the incredible members of the club I know great things lie ahead both on and off the pitch and I am looking forward to getting to work in preparation for the 2022 season”.
Please join us in welcoming Dush back to our club in his first opportunity as a Head Coach, we look forward to working alongside him and seeing him bring the same leadership skills, football acumen and technical nous which served him so well as a player.
Planning for the 2022 season is well underway, albeit limited due to current government restrictions, further announcements will be made in due course.
