Vale Vlado Dimitrijevic

It comes with unbelievable heartbreak and devastation to announce the sudden passing of club stalwart, Vlado Dimitrijevic.

A key pillar of our club and an ever presence at JT Gray for our entire 42 years of existence, including just this past weekend where he stood amongst family and lifelong friends supporting our senior men’s team as resolutely as he has always done.

A master carpenter by trade and successful builder, Vlado was never shy and always willing to put his hand up to assist the club as well as anybody he knew in any capacity he could.

He put his expert skills to use on countless occasions around the club over the past 4 decades, constructing and repairing the old run down portable facilities, making significant improvements and bringing them to life which played a significant role in helping foster the warm and welcoming community atmosphere our members have become accustomed to off the field.

Vlado’s passion, commitment, loyalty and tremendous goodwill has been a driving force in the development of our club’s modern-day community and family values as well as making him a much loved and respected figure amongst all WSC members and the broader local football and building community.

Most current members would have fond memories of the delicious home cooked meals he and his beautiful wife Mary would cook up every Thursday night after training or during a Saturday afternoon senior home game.

A generous task he completed for over 10 years, only just hanging up the apron at the end of last year.

Possessing a moral compass far beyond any ordinary man, Vlado leaves behind a lasting legacy in what has become of the modern-day Williamstown Soccer Club. Raising 5 beautiful children, who all grew up playing at the club, with eldest son Aleks becoming club captain and one of the most decorated players in our clubs history, to second eldest son Filip being a key figure and current assistant coach of our senior men’s team.

On behalf of the entire WSC community, we send our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Mary, Aleks, Filip, Natasha, Stefan and Nikolas as well as the extended Dimitrijevic family and relatives during this incredibly difficult time.

The club mourns with you all.

Počivaj u miru Vlado

Zauvek ćeš biti voljen i zapamćen u Mladost 💔

Funeral details to be released in due course.
