Club President's Welcome to the New Season

Welcome to the new soccer season at Williamstown Soccer Club.
I’d like to warmly welcome all our players, coaches, volunteers, members and families—whether you’re returning for another season or joining us for the first time. We’re delighted to have you as part of our club community. This season we are fielding 47 teams across all ages. 40 junior teams and 7 senior teams.
Our club is built on more than just football. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive, family-friendly club that values teamwork, respect, sportsmanship and enjoyment of the game. From our youngest juniors to our senior players, and from match-day volunteers to coaches and officials, everyone plays an important role in making our club what it is.
As we head into the season, we are continuing to finalise our committee and strengthen our leadership structure. I’m pleased to welcome back Michael Susa as Treasurer and Leanne Sutton as Secretary, and to acknowledge Jason Drozdek, our Football Director, for his ongoing leadership across the football program. Also I am happy to introduce Richard Boseley who has long been an integral part of the club as a player, parent and for keeping our pitch lines straight! Richard is stepping up to support the executive committee.
This year we also continue to build key coaching and technical roles across the club. We are proud to have Jordan Plumb as our Junior Boys Technical Director and Rossi Mergarejo as our Junior Girls Technical Director, supporting the development of our young players. At the senior level, we welcome Rodi Sferopoulos as Head Coach for our two Senior Women’s teams, strengthening our commitment to the women’s program.
And of course, we are excited to have Michael Loche as Head Coach of our Senior Men’s Team, supported by Filip Dimitrijevic as Assistant Coach.
Like all community clubs, Williamstown Soccer Club relies heavily on volunteers. As we prepare for the season ahead, we are seeking expressions of interest for the following roles:
- Member Protection Officer
- Events and Fundraising Lead
- Club Partnerships and Sponsorship Lead
These roles are vital to the continued growth, safety and sustainability of our club. If you have skills, experience or simply a willingness to help, we would love to hear from you.
Contact us to get involved.
In other exciting news, please welcome Carmel Langan & Celia Armstrong who will join Nina Lang in our first Junior Girls Subcommittee.
Helping lead and provide added focus to our junior girls program, supporting Rossi and all our committed and amazing coaches.
I encourage all members to get involved, support one another, and uphold the values of the club both on and off the field. Whether it’s cheering from the sidelines, lending a hand at the canteen, or representing the club on match day, your contribution makes a real difference.
Thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, and partners for your ongoing support—it simply wouldn’t be possible without you. I wish all teams a successful, safe, and enjoyable season and look forward to seeing you around the grounds.
Here’s to a great season ahead.
Warm regards,
Adrian Roeling
